The Nursery Elementary PTO is a group of Nursery Elementary School parents, guardians, grandparents, faculty and staff organized to enhance and support the educational experience at Nursery Elementary. We seek to foster a connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement and improving NISD through volunteering and financial support.
What Does PTO Do?
- Fund school wide field trips
- Fund 5th grade graduation
- Provide art, music and PE supplies
- Fund the annual holiday program
- Teacher and staff appreciation
- Annual Luncheon
- STARR Lunches
- Supply Allotments
- Provide each student with a yearbook and provide a stipend to the individual in charge of designing the yearbook
- Student rewards and incentives
- Fund teacher grants
- Provide each student with a book of their own through Reading Is Fundamental
- Organize and chair the annual Scholastic Book Fair
- Career Day Luncheon
- STAAR PARTY
- And So Much More!
How does PTO fund Activities?
With the wonderful support of parents like YOU! Our funds come from a combination of several fundraising efforts including annual dues, spirit nights, annual fundraiser sales event and Spring Fling. We also seek sponsorships and donations to offset the cost of our events.
Why Join The PTO?
It’s actually FUN! Parent volunteers are an essential part of what makes our PTO programs successful. Participating in PTO activities is a great way to connect with other parents, teachers, and students. Even giving just a few hours of your time a school year can make a HUGE difference.
How does the PTO decide what to do?
Through our monthly meetings - we meet once a month on Mondays in the cafeteria at Nursery Elementary. Parents, teachers and staff bring ideas and requests to these meetings where we discuss and vote on them. We also serve dinner - come join us!
